Esta obra maestra se basa en una historia apocalíptica que habla de la devastación de la humanidad y luego de seguidas catástrofes. se creo una guerra eterna entre los Terranos(nombre que le dan los vampiros a los humanos) y Matuselenes(o vampiros, como se nombran ellos mismos) además de ellos se distingue otra raza llamada Kresnik que en realidad es un vampiro que absorbe la sangre de otro vampiro.
El personaje principal de esta serie padre Abel Nightroad un Kresnik que normalmente se muestra como una persona despistada que siempre esta en problemas pero a medida la serie va avanzando se le presentan graves problemas solo por estar siempre tratando de ayudar a la gente ya que para el todos son humanos.
